99 Nights in the Forest is a survival game where daytime never seems long enough. You gather supplies, improve your camp and explore the forest before darkness returns.
The game changes often, so exact items and strategies may move around after an update. These basics should still give you a much calmer first run.
Start close to camp. Gather wood, food and useful scrap instead of running deep into the map straight away. Learning where everything is around your camp matters more than finding rare loot during your first few minutes.
Keep an eye on daylight and leave enough time to return. Getting caught far away with no plan is one of the quickest ways for a new run to end.
The campfire is the centre of your run. Keep fuel nearby and check it before night begins. Do not assume another player is watching it, especially in a busy public server.
A small reserve of fuel is useful when the fire drops unexpectedly. If you are playing with friends, agree on who will check the fire while everyone else gathers supplies.
Teams usually do better when players are not all chasing the same thing. One person can collect fuel, another can organise camp and craft, while an explorer searches for food, loot and missing children.
Tell your team before you leave camp. If nobody knows where you went, they cannot prepare to help when you get into trouble.
Take food and useful equipment before travelling far. Notice landmarks on the way out so the return trip is easier, and turn back sooner than you think you need to.
Rescuing missing children helps the run progress, but you do not have to rush towards every objective immediately. A stronger camp and a prepared team are worth more than one risky trip.
Do not worry about reaching Night 99 on your first attempt. Try to survive a few nights, learn one new crafting item and understand how your team works. The next run will already feel easier.
