This School/Teacher Agreement ("Agreement") outlines the relationship between Laius Entertainment ("Processor") and the School or Educational Institution ("Controller") utilising LaiusEDU.
1. Roles and Responsibilities
In accordance with the UK GDPR and US FERPA regulations:
- The School (Controller): Determines the purposes and means of processing student data (e.g., creating accounts, assigning grades).
- Laius Entertainment (Processor): Processes student data solely on behalf of the School to provide the LaiusEDU service.
2. Data Processing & Protection
Laius Entertainment agrees to:
- Process student personal data only on documented instructions from the School.
- Ensure that persons authorized to process the data have committed themselves to confidentiality.
- Implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk.
- Not engage another processor (sub-processor) without prior specific or general written authorization (our current sub-processors include Amazon AWS and Google).
3. Administrative Controls
Teachers or School Administrators will be provided with a dashboard allowing them to:
- Create and manage student accounts.
- Reset passwords.
- View progress reports.
- Enable or disable specific features, including the AI Assistant.
4. FERPA Compliance (US Schools)
We perform services for the School that the School would otherwise use its own employees to perform. We are under the direct control of the School with respect to the use and maintenance of education records. We will not disclose PII from an education record to any other party without the prior written consent of the parent or eligible student.
5. Termination
Upon termination of this Agreement, Laius Entertainment shall, at the choice of the School, delete or return all student data to the School, unless UK or US law requires storage of the personal data.
