Trading in Adopt Me can help you swap pets and items you no longer want. It can also feel rushed when another player keeps telling you to accept.
You are always allowed to say no. Do not accept a trade you do not trust or one that looks like a scam, even if the other player says you will miss your chance.
Check every item before accepting
Look at every pet and item in the final trade window. Make sure nothing was removed or replaced while you were talking. Similar names and pictures can be confusing when you are moving quickly.
There is no rule saying you must accept because somebody spent time making an offer. Take as long as the trade screen allows, or decline and think about it first.
Avoid trust trades and outside deals
- Do not give somebody a pet first because they promise to return something later.
- Do not lend your account or let another player “upgrade” a pet for you.
- Do not move the deal to an unofficial website, message or payment app.
- Never share your password, 2SV code, backup code or browser information.
- Ignore promises to duplicate pets. Real trades do not need a secret trick.
Value lists are not guarantees
Players may disagree about what a pet is worth, and values can change after updates. A website or another player calling something a “win” does not force you to accept it. Think about whether you actually want the items offered.
Use the Trade License tools
Adopt Me's Trade License provides access to recent trade history and an in-game way to report suspicious trades. If something goes wrong, save what you can and report through the official tools rather than arguing with the other player.
warning Stop if it feels wrong
A fair trader will let you check the offer. Pressure, secrecy and “go first” deals are reasons to leave.
