Keep Your Roblox Account Safe from Links and Scams

By Laius Entertainment Sunday, 9 August 2026 3 min read

Scammers do not always begin by asking for your password. They may send a friend request, promise a rare item, offer free Robux or ask you to visit another website. The message can look friendly and may even come from an account you recognise.

Stop before clicking anything. A stolen account can be used to send the same scam to its friends, so recognising the sender is not proof that a message is safe.

Be careful with unknown friend requests

Accepting a friend request does not give someone access to your account by itself. However, strangers may use friend requests to start conversations, build trust and send harmful links later. Do not accept friend requests from people you do not know.

Do not visit unknown websites

Never open a site just because somebody says it sells cheap items, gives free rewards or can check the value of your inventory. A fake site may copy the Roblox login page and collect anything you enter.

Only enter your Roblox login details in the official Roblox app or on roblox.com. Check the address carefully. A familiar logo does not make a website official.

Never install a programme for somebody

Do not install a programme, browser extension or file that another player tells you to use. It may contain malware that steals passwords, cookies or other information from your device. Ask a parent or guardian before downloading anything. Roblox also says it does not make official browser extensions.

Never share your .ROBLOSECURITY cookie

The .ROBLOSECURITY cookie is private login information stored by your browser. Someone who gets it may be able to use your logged-in Roblox session without knowing your password. They could access your account, spend Robux, take items or interfere with your game progress.

lock Treat cookies like passwords

Never copy, paste, send, screenshot or show your .ROBLOSECURITY cookie. Roblox staff and Laius Entertainment staff will never ask for it. Do not paste code into your browser console for another person either.

Avoid unofficial item shops and trades

Do not trust external websites selling Murder Mystery 2 weapons, Adopt Me pets or other in-game items. Deals outside official Roblox and game systems can be scams, and Roblox may not be able to return what you lose. If an offer needs you to leave Roblox, install something, share account information or go first, walk away.

If you already clicked or shared something

Do not feel embarrassed. Scammers deliberately make their messages look believable. Acting quickly gives you the best chance of protecting your account.
