A password is one lock on your Roblox account. Two-step verification, often shortened to 2SV, adds another check when someone tries to sign in.
That extra step can stop a thief even if they already know your password.
Depending on the method you choose, Roblox may ask for a code from an authenticator app, an email check, a security key or approval from a device where you are already signed in. A stolen password is not enough on its own.
Never send a 2SV code, backup code, password or browser cookie to another person. Roblox staff will not ask you for them. A person promising free Robux, a pet or help with your account does not need your code either.
If a sign-in approval appears when you are not trying to log in, reject it. Change your password and tell a trusted adult, because somebody may already know your password.
A real friend does not need your password or security code. Keep both to yourself.
Security only helps if you can still recover your own account. Keep the verified email up to date and store backup options safely. Do not leave the only recovery code in a message that other people can open.
